Manchester City locked horns with Sporting CP at the José Alvalade Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a victory on the road. Man City made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the seventh minute when Riyad Mahrez got his name on the scoresheet. Bernardo Silva doubled Man City’s advantage with a stunning strike just ten minutes later. Phil Foden made it 3-0 to Pep Guardiola’s side after the half-hour mark when he found the back of the net as well. Silva added another goal late in the first half as the Mancunian giants were leading 4-0 at half-time.
Raheem Sterling scored Man City’s fifth goal with a great effort in the 58th minute as the Premier League champions ended up securing a 5-0 win away in Portugal.
