Everton locked horns with Manchester City at Goodison Park earlier this evening as they hoped to grind out a result at home. The Toffees kept a solid shape in the first half and went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
However, the home team’s resistance were finally broken in the 82nd minute when Phil Foden scored from close range. The match ended with the Merseyside outfit suffering a tough 1-0 loss in front of their home supporters.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player fared during the clash against Man City.

The English keeper made a lot of good saves during the game but will be disappointed for conceding such a late goal.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 6.5/10
He performed his defensive duties well and made one good run down the right flank.
CB: Mason Holgate – 6.5/10
Holgate made a lot of important clearances at the back but his efforts were not enough in the end.
CB: Michael Keane – 5/10
Keane made a poor mistake and gifted Man City’s Phil Foden a goal which turned out to be the only one of the game.
LB: Jonjoe Kenny – 6/10
He came back to clear the danger but offered very little in the final third.
CM: Allan – 7/10
Allan made a number of crunching tackles to make life difficult for the visitors. He also made two clever runs with the ball from midfield.
CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 7/10
He was full of energy and running at the centre of the park but lacked quality in the final third.
RW: Alex Iwobi – 7/10
Iwobi tracked back to defend when required and was a threat going forward.
CAM: Donny van de Beek – 6.5/10
The Dutch talent tried his best to protect his backline but failed to influence the game in the attacking end of the pitch.
LW: Anthony Gordon – 6/10
He had a few bright moments but was a bit wasteful in the final third.
ST: Richarlison – 7/10
The Brazilian talent made a few encouraging runs with the ball but lacked quality in front of the Man City goal.
