Fichajes has recently reported that Arsenal are set to rival Newcastle United for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao this summer. It has been revealed that the Gunners are planning to strengthen their attack by recruiting the Portuguese wing wizard during this summer transfer window.
Leao’s Incredible Numbers In Italian Football This Season
The 22-year-old has been an influential member of AC Milan’s starting XI after putting in a series of match-winning displays for them during this campaign. Leao has found the back of the net on 10 occasions and provided six assists in 27 matches for the Italian outfit this season in multiple competitions.
The Portugal international has been quite a productive presence down the left flank as he is averaging 2.7 shots, 1.1 key passes and 2.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate with his ball distribution based on his pass success rate of 77.3% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

What Will Leao Bring To Arsenal?
Leao can use his quickness to leave his marker to bite the dust out on the wide areas. He can be a hard man to stop when left isolated in a 1v1 situation and can create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. Leao is primarily a left-sided wide player but is also versatile enough to fill in as a centre-forward if needed.
The three-time Portugal international can strike the ball with power and has added a handful of goals to his game this season. He is definitely a player on the rise, so Arsenal would do well to bring him to the English capital when the transfer window reopens this January.
At 22, Leao has his best years ahead of him which makes him a good option for the Gunners to consider for the long run.
