In a recent report, Football.London revealed that Arsenal could move in for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez. It is understood that the Gunners are hoping to strengthen their attack by recruiting the Argentine marksman at the end of this campaign.

Martinez is having a productive season at San Siro after putting in a series of eye-catching performances as the focal point of Inter’s attack. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net on 12 occasions and provided two assists in 33 matches for the Italian outfit during this campaign on all fronts.
The Bahia Blanca-born talent has given a good account of himself by averaging 2.8 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he has been a bit sloppy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half as he has completed 73.8% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Martinez Add To Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta’s Side?
Martinez can use his quickness to make some driving runs in behind the opposition backline. He is a decent finisher in the final third and has got a good work rate off the ball. The Argentine international is good in the air and can even create some meaningful openings for his teammates up top. However, he needs to work on improving his link-up play in the attacking end of the field.
Martinez has got what it takes to help the Gunners get back to competing for major trophies over the next few seasons. The South American talent will definitely add plenty of pace and goals to Mikel Arteta‘s frontline and could go on to become a real fan-favourite at the Emirates Stadium as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in English football.
