Leicester City will face off against Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday night as they try to secure a result on their travels. The Foxes suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest last weekend which knocked them out of the FA Cup. Hence, they will be eager to right the wrongs versus the Reds in midweek.
Brendan Rodgers will opt for a 4-3-1-2 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his side for this game. Patson Daka could get a start alongside Kelechi Iheanacho up top.
4-3-1-2 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will feature in goal for the East Midlands outfit after he was rested on the bench last weekend. Daniel Amartey will function alongside Caglar Soyuncu at the centre of the Leicester backline as they try to keep the Liverpool attackers at bay this Thursday night.
James Justin will try to impress at right-back while Luke Thomas fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to defend deep so that they can stop the opposition from getting in behind them out on the wide areas.
Jonny Evans and Timothy Castagne will be sidelined for this game due to injuries. Jannik Vestergaard will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Wilfred Ndidi and Hamza Choudhury will anchor the midfield for the visitors as they focus on stopping Liverpool from getting a stranglehold in the game at the centre of the park.
James Maddison will play as a free-flowing, attacking midfielder in the opponent’s half. He will carry most of the creative workload for Rodgers’ side in the final third.
Harvey Barnes and Ademola Lookman will drop to the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the latter stages if needed.
Attack
As mentioned earlier, Patson Daka will lead the line alongside Kelechi Iheanacho up top. The Foxes pair will have to find ways to cause a few problems for the Liverpool centre-backs on the counter.
Jamie Vardy is still recovering from a thigh injury and won’t feature in this game.
