According to a recent report by the Foot Mercato, West Ham United are interested to sign the Strasbourg striker Ludovic Ajorque. It is believed that the Hammers manager David Moyes has been impressed by his form in front of goal in the Ligue 1. The Hammers are in search of a striker in the transfer market as David Moyes looks to sign someone who can provide cover and competition to Michail Antonio as West Ham get ready for a tough second half of the season competing both in the league and in Europe.
Ludovic Ajorque’s Strong Start To The Season
The 27-year-old French striker joined Strasbourg in 2018 and has scored 48 goals so far for the French club. This season Ajorque has been in terrific form scoring 10 goals and assisting 6 others in 18 appearances in the Ligue 1. The French striker has either scored or assisted in 12 different games for Strasbourg helping them compete for a top-half finish this season in the league.
Ludovic Ajorque’s contract with Strasbourg runs until 2024 and therefore the 27-year-old might cost a bit more than expected in the January transfer window. Considering the Ligue 1 side are vying for a Europa League place this season, it would be a huge blow for them to lose their main striker, as they will find it difficult to replace his quality mid-season.

The Hammers are in desperate need of a striker who can provide reliable cover and competition to the Jamaican Michail Antonio in order to compete on all fronts. David Moyes currently have only Antonio to lead the line for the Hammers but when games come thick and fast later on in the season it will be difficult for the Jamaican to play all the games and perform consistently.
Ludovic Ajorque’s physical style of play and ability on the ball is believed to make him an ideal choice for the Premier League. He can be a suitable cover for Antonio considering the consistency he has shown in the Ligue 1 and the type of goals he is capable of scoring. Now it remains to be seen how much price tag does the French club put up for the forward considering he is their main striker and also if the Hammers can match that or not in this window.
