Tottenham Hotspur entertained Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to pick up a positive result in front of their home supporters. Spurs made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 18th minute when Antonio Rudiger scored with a solid header. The North London outfit failed to come up with a response and were trailing 1-0 at half-time.
It was a similar story in the second half as Antonio Conte’s men crashed to a 1-0 defeat at home (3-0 on aggregate) which knocked them out of the Carabao Cup.
Let’s take a look at how each Tottenham player performed during the match against the Blues.
GK: Pierluigi Gollini – 6.5/10
He made a couple of saves during the game and was tidy with his passing.
RB: Emerson Royal – 6.5/10
The Spurs right-back was a threat going forward and did his fair share of defending inside his half.
CB: Davinson Sanchez – 7/10
Sanchez made a lot of crucial clearances at the back and made one key chance going forward.
CB: Japhet Tanganga – 6.5/10
Tanganga didn’t shy away from putting his foot through the ball when required and managed to engineer one good chance in the opposition half.
