In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak. It is believed that Los Blancos are weighing up a move to acquire the services of the Swedish marksman this summer.
Isak’s Good Form In Spanish Football This Season
The 22-year-old has banged in some important goals for the Spanish outfit during this campaign and has caught the eye with his performances as the focal point of their attack. Isak has been involved in 25 matches for Real Sociedad this season, scoring eight goals and picking up two assists in various competitions.
The Solna-born talent has proven his worth as a consistent performer by averaging 2.1 shots, 0.4 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he needs to work on improving his ball distribution after making 72.4% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top-flight (stats via whoscored).
Will Isak Be A Decent Choice For Real Madrid?
Isak has proved his value as a decent goal-getter up top because of his ability to finish off chances in the final third. He excels at creating space for himself and usually tests the opposition keeper with his shot attempts when he is playing with confidence on the pitch.
The 31-time Swedish international can make some encouraging runs in behind the opponent’s backline but needs to work on improving his link-up play if he wants to be a success story in Spanish football.
Real Madrid are still looking for a long-term successor to Karim Benzema after both Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz failed to make themselves regular starters under Carlo Ancelotti‘s stewardship recently.
If Isak continues to have a good season with Sociedad, Los Blancos would be wise to recruit him as he has all the right attributes needed to be a top player at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. All in all, Isak will be a decent choice for Ancelotti to consider at the end of this campaign but only if Real Madrid fail to land any of their primary targets.
