Real Madrid will face off against Elche at the Estadio Martínez Valero as they look to secure a win and book a place in the next round of the Copa del Rey. Los Blancos managed to earn a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup final last weekend, so they will be full of confidence ahead of this game.
Carlo Ancelotti will stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make one tweak to his first-team for this cup clash on the road. Nacho is expected to play from the start in the absence of Eder Militao who is suspended for this game after picking up a red card in his last outing.
4-3-3 Real Madrid Predicted Lineup To Face Elche
Defence
Thibaut Courtois will feature in goal for the Madrid giants after bagging a clean sheet versus Bilbao last weekend. As mentioned earlier, Nacho will get a start alongside David Alaba at the heart of Ancelotti’s defence as they try to keep another shutout this Thursday evening.
Lucas Vazquez could retain his place at right-back while Ferland Mendy hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Ancelotti will give both of them the license to get forward and express themselves in the Elche half.
Midfield
Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric will once again make up the Real Madrid midfield. Thier main focus would be to dominate the battle at the centre of the park and create enough goal-scoring opportunities for their teammates up top.
Federico Valverde will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the midfield positions.
Attack
Vinicius Junior will operate as the left-sided wide player while Rodrygo looks to produce an impressive display from the right. Karim Benzema will lead the line for Los Blancos down the middle after another goal-scoring display last weekend.
Luka Jovic will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the final quarter of the game if Real Madrid are in need of a goal by then.
