The Daily Star has recently reported that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba wants to join Real Madrid in the summer. It is believed that the French playmaker prefers to make a move to Los Blancos when his Man United contract runs out at the end of this campaign.
Pogba’s Up And Down Season At The Theatre Of Dreams
Pogba has endured a campaign of mixed emotions at Old Trafford thus far. He has been responsible for putting in a handful of productive displays at the heart of Man United’s midfield but has also missed a lot of games this season due to injury.
The French talent has participated in 13 matches for the Red Devils during this campaign, securing seven assists in the process across all competitions. Pogba has given a good account of himself by averaging 2.2 shots, 1.7 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been excellent when distributing possession from midfield after completing 85% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Should Real Madrid Get Pogba On Board This Summer?
Pogba remains a world-class midfielder as he can still create chances out of nothing for his team in the attacking third of the field. He has the vision to play a decisive pass while floating in and around the opposition penalty area.
The France international can even strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range. He is proficient at making some powerful runs with the ball going forward and can also step in to anchor the midfield with conviction when needed.
A complete midfielder of Pogba’s skillset will be a terrific signing for Real Madrid as he will enhance the quality of Carlo Ancelotti‘s match-day squad. With both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric edging closer towards the end of their playing careers, Los Blancos can definitely use someone like Pogba to help them bring some major honours to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons. Thus, Ancelotti should think about getting the Man United outcast on board when he becomes a free agent at the end of this season.
