In a recent tweet, journalist Baptiste Durieux revealed that Manchester City have been offered a chance to land Paris Saint-Germain full-back Layvin Kurzawa. It is believed that the Mancunian giants have been given an opportunity to acquire the services of the French defender so that they can add more depth to their squad.

Kurzawa’s Growing Frustrations In French Football This Season
The 29-year-old has hardly featured for PSG during this campaign as he has often found himself on their bench. Kurzawa has tasted just nine minutes of playing time for the French club this season.
The Frejus-born talent played a far more prominent role for the Parisian giants in the previous campaign when he was involved in 27 matches, netting one goal and grabbing two assists on all fronts. Kurzawa proved himself to be a solid defender at the back as he averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.5 interceptions and 1.1 clearances per game in Ligue 1. He was even tidy when distributing the ball from the wide areas based on his pass completion rate of 87.6% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Should Manchester City Snap Kurzawa Up?
As mentioned earlier, Kurzawa can be a solid presence when defending inside his half as he can get stuck in with some crunching tackles to earn possession back on the defensive end of the field.
The French left-back doesn’t shy away from putting his foot through the ball and can create a few decent chances for his teammates when he is playing well on the field. He is even a good dribbler with the ball but has not played competitive football for a long time which makes him a risky option for Man City to consider this year.
At the moment, Pep Guardiola has got Joao Cancelo filling in as his primary option at left-back while Oleksandr Zinchenko offers cover for that position on the bench. Hence, the Mancunian giants have no immediate need to secure the services of Kurzawa as they have enough depth as it is in their squad. Hence, Guardiola should not think about snapping the PSG outcast up as he would only serve as a luxury acquisition rather than a necessary one at the Etihad Stadium.
