Liverpool entertained Brentford at Anfield earlier today as they focused on collecting maximum points at home. The Reds made a dominant start to the contest but struggled to finish off their chances. However, they picked their game up and got their noses ahead in the 44th minute courtesy of Fabinho’s header from close range. Jurgen Klopp’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain doubled Liverpool’s advantage in the 69th minute with a great header. Takumi Minamino came off the bench to score with a tidy finish which capped off an impressive 3-0 win for the Reds at home.

The Dutch centre-back controlled the game well from the back and earned a comfortable clean sheet at Anfield.
LB: Andrew Robertson – 8/10
Robertson made a couple of promising runs with the ball and set up a few clear-cut chances for his teammates to score. He ended the game with an assist to his name.
CM: Jordan Henderson – 7/10
The Liverpool captain retained possession with conviction in midfield and did his fair share of defending as well.
CM: Fabinho – 8.5/10
Fabinho won the ball back a couple of times and engineered several key chances for others around him. He got his name on the scoresheet with a good header from close range and just about deserves to be named the man of the match.
CM: Curtis Jones – 7.5/10
He made some dangerous runs with the ball and caused a few problems for the Brentford defenders. However, there was no goal for him today.
RW: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7/10
The English attacker was a bit untidy with his link-up play but scored a good goal in the second half before leaving the field with an injury.

The Brazilian striker worked hard and showed his unselfishness by setting up Minamino in the 77th minute.

Jota was a constant menace for the opposition defenders and was unfortunate to hit the post with his goal-bound attempt in the second half.
