David’s Impressive Run Of Form In The French Top-Flight
David has enjoyed a rich vein of form in French football during this campaign after producing a series of productive displays as the focal point of the Lille attack. The 22-year-old has banged in 16 goals in 30 matches for the French club this season across all fronts.
The Brooklyn-born talent has caught the eye by averaging 1.8 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the opposition half based on his pass completion rate of 78.9% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will David Add To Chelsea Boss Thomas Tuchel’s Side?
David is a quick and agile forward who can make some well-timed runs in behind the opposition backline. He is a hard-working forward who has transformed himself into a prolific finisher in the final third. The Canadian talent has got a great leap in him and can get himself into a few dangerous areas inside the opponent’s penalty box. However, he still has a lot of room to grow as a footballer.
If this Premier League season is anything to go by, Thomas Tuchel needs to add one or two fresh faces to his attack. David fits the bill perfectly as he is good enough to offer some healthy competition for Romelu Lukaku who has struggled to be consistent with his performances for Chelsea of late.
At 22, David’s best years are ahead of him which makes him a decent, long-term option for the Blues to consider during the summer transfer window. We can expect the Lille star to add more pace and goals to Tuchel’s attack. David could even help the West London giants challenge for a few major trophies in the coming seasons as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in English football.
