In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Chelsea are facing stiff competition for Barcelona starlet Gavi. It is understood that the Blues will have to fight it out with Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich in pursuit of the Spanish midfielder.

Gavi has enjoyed a meteoric rise at the Nou Camp this season as he has managed to establish himself as a key member of Barca’s midfield. The 17-year-old has registered one goal and three assists in 25 matches for the Catalan giants during this campaign across all fronts.
The Spanish teenager has caught the eye by averaging 1.3 tackles, 0.7 key passes, 0.8 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. He has even been tidy when interchanging possession with his teammates from midfield based on his pass success rate of 89.1% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Gavi Bring To Chelsea?
Gavi is a tidy passer of the ball and can make some clever runs with the ball from midfield. He has a wide range of passes under his belt and can make a few tackles to earn possession back for his team. The Spanish whizkid can even contribute by scoring the odd goal and has picked up his fair share of assists as well this season.
At 17, Gavi is one of the brightest young players in Spanish football. Therefore, he would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea if they can find a way to get a deal done for him in the not-too-distant future.
Gavi will bring a lot of energy and dynamism to Thomas Tuchel‘s midfield department and could go on to become a future superstar at Stamford Bridge. He will also serve as an upgrade over Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley at the West London club as they have both struggled to earn regular game time in the Premier League this season.
