Chelsea will clash heads with Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening, hoping to pick up a win on their home turf. The Blues will be heading into the contest on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw with Brighton, whereas the Lilywhites recorded a thrilling 3-2 victory over Leicester City on January 19.
Team News
Eric Dier remains out with a muscular problem, whereas Son Heung-min and Sergio Romero don’t have specific return dates yet.
Antonio Conte will probably opt for the 3-4-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game as Steven Bergwijn looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
3-4-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Chelsea
Defence
Hugo Lloris will operate between the sticks for the upcoming fixture. The France shot-stopper will hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Sunday.
Davidson Sanchez will form the centre-half partnership with Japhet Tanganga, Ben Davies at the heart of Spurs’ backline.
Sergio Reguilon is a guaranteed starter at the left-back position, whereas Emerson Royal will fill in on the other flank as the right-back. The full-backs will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might start in the holding midfield position and could be assigned with more of a defensive role to shield the away side’s back-four.
Oliver Skipp will slot into the central midfield role, determined to set up some clear-cut goal scoring chances for the front men.
Dele Alli will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could come on to make a cameo appearance in the second half.
Attack
Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura will take up the wide positions, playing on the left and right-wing, respectively.
Harry Kane will lead the line for Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. The England international will be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the Chelsea defence that has kept two clean sheets in their last five matches across all competitions (both coming against Spurs).
