Felix’s Lack Of Game Time At The Spanish Capital This Season
Felix is having an up and down campaign at the Wanda Metropolitano but has still managed to put in a few impressive displays as a key member of Diego Simeone’s attack. The 22-year-old has been involved in 19 matches for the Spanish side this season, netting three goals and grabbing three assists across all fronts.
The Viseu-born sensation has made most of his appearances off the bench but has done well to average 1.8 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even interchanged possession relatively well after making 77.6% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
What Will Felix Bring To Barcelona?
Felix is a quick and agile forward who can complete some exciting dribbles with the ball in the final third. He excels at creating space for himself to get a few shots in on-target and can be a decent finisher in front of the opposition goal when he is playing well on the field.
The Portugal international has also got the eye to play a decisive pass in the final third and usually tidy with his link-up play with others around him. He is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if required.
At 22, Felix has got a bright future ahead of him which makes him a good choice for Barca to pursue during this winter transfer window. We can expect Felix to bring some goals and creativity to Xavi‘s attack. He will offer some much-needed competition for Memphis Depay at the Nou Camp.
Moreover, Felix is good enough to help the Catalan outfit secure UEFA Champions League football in the coming seasons. Thus, Xavi should consider making a move to land the Portuguese marksman before the end of this month.
