The appointment of Ralph Rangnick will see the German take charge of Manchester United for the first time when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Red Devils are currently unbeaten in the three games they have played after the departure of Ole Gunner Solskjaer. 1 point from league leaders Chelsea and all 3 from top four contenders Arsenal will give them a huge boost going into this game. Currently 12 points behind the league leaders, Manchester United will be looking to build some momentum going into the busy Christmas schedule.
Predicted Manchester United Lineup Vs Crystal Palace
Defence
With no cleansheets in the last 15 home games, David De Gea will be hoping to turn things around between the sticks when they meet Palace this weekend.
Harry Maguire is set to start again alongside Victor Lindelof at the heart of the United defence which has looked shaky all season. Raphael Varane will continue to be sidelined with a hamstring injury and is considered to be a big miss for new boss Ralph Rangnick. Eric Bailey will add defensive cover from the bench.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to return to the starting XI after missing out against Arsenal with a minor injury. Alex Telles will continue playing at left-back with Luke Shaw still injured and not in training.
Midfield
Fred and Mctominay are expected starters in the middle of the park with the duo giving stability to United defensively. Both of them were superb in the last few games winning the 2nd ball and going for tackles higher up the pitch causing the opposition problems at the back.
Bruno Fernandes will be hoping to add creativity by linking up with the attackers upfront and causing problems to the Palace backline which will be missing its key defender Joachim Anderson. Donny Van de Beek will be a useful option for Rangnick to bring off the bench later in the game.
Attack
The trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford is believed to start upfront for the Red Devils. The three of them has looked to combine well in the last few games for United. Ronaldo will lead the line as the new boss will be hoping for him to deliver the goods again. Mason Greenwood will be back on the bench and can make an impact in the latter stages of the game.
