Manchester United faced off against Norwich City at Carrow Road earlier this evening as they hoped to secure all three points in the Premier League. The Red Devils dominated the ball in the first 45 minutes but struggled to break the opposition down as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Cristiano Ronaldo gave Ralf Rangnick’s side the lead in the 75th minute when he successfully converted his penalty. The Mancunian outfit held on to their narrow advantage and managed to grind out a 1-0 win on the road.
Let’s take a look at how each Man United player performed during the match against the Canaries.
GK: David de Gea – 8.5/10
The Spanish keeper made a handful of solid saves at the back and earned a well-deserved clean sheet away from home.
RB: Diogo Dalot – 7/10
Dalot performed his defensive duties quite well and had one lively moment in the final third.
CB: Victor Lindelof – 6.5/10
He did enough work defensively to restrict the Norwich City attackers from scoring but lasted only 73 minutes.
CB: Harry Maguire – 7/10
Maguire cleared the danger when needed and produced an impressive performance on the defensive end of the pitch.
LB: Alex Telles – 7/10
He did his fair share of defending and created one good chance in the Canaries’ half.
CM: Scott McTominay – 8/10
McTominay bossed the game in midfield and managed to cut off a lot of the home team’s attacks. He also made a couple of decent chances in the final third.
CM: Fred – 8/10
The Brazilian midfield ace got stuck in with plenty of solid tackles and made life difficult for Norwich at the centre of the park. He also made two promising runs from midfield.
RAM: Jadon Sancho – 6.5/10
Sancho engineered two meaningful opportunities for his teammates to score. He got substituted in the 66th minute.
LAM: Bruno Fernandes – 6/10
The Portugal international struggled to get a foothold in the game and hardly got a sniff at goal.
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – 7.5/10
Ronaldo looked hungry for a goal. He kept his composure to score the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
ST: Marcus Rashford – 7/10
He was always looking to run with the ball and have a strike at goal. However, he lacked the cutting edge in the attacking end of the field.
Substitutes:
RAM: Mason Greenwood – 6/10
Greenwood offered very little after coming off the bench.
CB: Eric Bailly – 6/10
He added some steel to Rangnick’s defence.
CM: Donny van de Beek – N/A
The Dutch midfield ace came on to run the clock down for Man United.
