West Ham United will face off against Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday afternoon as they try to collect maximum points on the road. The Hammers suffered a tough 3-2 loss against Southampton last weekend, so they will be keen on bouncing back by securing a win in midweek.
David Moyes will probably stick with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation but would have to do without the services of Declan Rice, who is suspended for this game. The West Ham boss might make a few changes to his starting XI for this Premier League clash away from home.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Watford
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will feature in goal for the Hammers after conceding two goals versus the Saints last weekend. Craig Dawson will operate alongside Issa Diop at the centre of Moyes’ defence as they focus on keeping a clean sheet at Vicarage Road.
Ben Johnson could get a chance to impress as the left-back while Vladimír Coufal fills in on the other side as the right-back. Both of them will have to keep a good shape at the back and cause a few problems for the Hornets from the wide areas.
Ryan Fredericks will be named on the bench as he offers cover for the right-back position.
Midfield
Mark Noble will function along with Tomas Soucek at the heart of West Ham’s midfield. Noble will have to step up and give a good account of himself in the absence of Declan Rice.
Said Benrahma will be eager to impress as the left-sided winger while Jarrod Bowen would hope to put in a productive performance on the right. Manuel Lanzini could get a chance to play as Moyes’ primary attacking midfielder in the Watford half.
Pablo Fornals and Andriy Yarmolenko will be available for selection on the bench and could come on to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
Attack
Michail Antonio will spearhead West Ham’s attack in the final third after he got a rest on the bench last weekend. The English striker managed to score versus Southampton after coming on at halftime, and he would be eager to put in a similar display in this midweek clash.
