Leeds United will entertain Arsenal at Elland Road on Saturday evening as they try to bounce back with a good result in the Premier League. The Whites suffered a humiliating 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in midweek, so their confidence will be quite drained ahead of this clash.
Marcelo Bielsa will opt for a 4-1-4-1 formation and could make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Both Charlie Cresswell and Mateusz Klich are expected to play from the start for the West Yorkshire outfit this weekend.
4-1-4-1 Leeds United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Illan Meslier will function in between the sticks for the Whites after letting in seven goals versus Man City in midweek. As mentioned earlier, Charlie Cresswell will get a chance to play alongside Diego Llorente at the heart of the Leeds backline as they try to produce a much-improved showing versus the Gunners this Saturday.
Stuart Dallas will fill in at left-back while Luke Ayling hopes to catch the eye as the right-back. Junior Firpo is suspended for this game after picking up five yellow cards in Premier League football. Bielsa will ask both of them to keep a good defensive shape at the back so that they can stop the Arsenal wingers from getting in behind them out on the wide areas.
Cody Drameh will make up the numbers on the bench as he offers cover for the full-back positions.
Midfield
Adam Forshaw will serve as Leeds’ main anchorman in midfield as he looks to break down some of the Arsenal attackers. The dynamic duo of Mateusz Klich and Tyler Roberts will operate just ahead of him as the box-to-box midfielders. Both of them will have to work hard to stop the Gunners from dominating the game at the centre of the park.
Raphinha will be Bielsa’s best hope for a goal as he functions as the right-sided winger while Jack Harrison hopes to give a good account of himself down the left flank.
Crysencio Summerville will be available for selection on the bench and could come on to influence the game in the final quarter of the game if the Whites are in need of a goal by then.
Attack
Joe Gelhardt will have to lead the line for the Whites in the injury absence of Daniel James and Patrick Bamford. The young striker will have to work hard towards causing a few problems for the Arsenal centre-backs this weekend.
