Everton will visit Selhurst Park on Sunday as they take on Crystal Palace this weekend. Everton’s eight games winless run came to an end last Monday when they came back from behind to win against Arsenal. Currently sitting 12th in the league table, this win will give massive confidence to Rafael Benitez’s men ahead of the game vs the Eagles on Sunday. Palace are currently on a poor run of form themselves losing their last 3 games as Everton look to count on the opportunity and pick up all 3 points in order to climb up to the top half of the table.
Predicted Everton Lineup Vs Crystal Palace
Defence
Jordan Pickford will continue in goal for the Toffees as he aims for a rare cleansheet with his last one coming against Spurs five games ago.
Yerry Mina is out injured again with a calf problem after playing 31 minutes against Arsenal. Mason Holgate will replace him in the starting XI and will partner alongside Michael Keane in the heart of the defence. It will need a solid display from the Everton centre-backs to keep the Palace attackers
at bay for 90 minutes.
Lucas Digne has been dropped from the squad due to his poor performance. Ben Godfrey will take his place in the left full-back spot and Seamus Coleman will start from the right and will look to go high up the pitch to deliver crosses for the attackers.
Midfield
It is believed that Rafael Benitez will opt for a 3-man midfield for the game against Palace with the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Allan and Andre Gomes all starting. This will give the Everton midfield more control in the middle of the park and a perfect balance. Allan will take up a role to sit back in
front of the CB’s whereas Doucoure is expected to make late runs into the box to link up with the attack.
Tom Davies is out with a knee injury as Fabian Delph remains the only midfield player on the bench to cover for the starters and will look to make an impact later in the game.
Attack
The front three of Demarai Gray, Richarlison and Andros Townsend will lead the attack for the Toffees. Both Gray and Richarlison have been Everton’s in-form players and Rafael Benitez will be relying heavily upon them to gain 3 points from the clash on Sunday.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still missing with a long-term injury and Salomon Rondon has a hamstring issue and is likely to miss the game. Cenk Tosun and Anthony Gordon are options from the bench for Benitez to bring on in the later stages of the game.
