Tottenham Hotspur will welcome Rennes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night as they look to earn all three points at home and book a place in the next round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. Spurs managed to earn a comfortable 3-0 victory over Norwich City in the Premier League last weekend which will give them some confidence ahead of their crucial European game.
Antonio Conte will set his team up in a 3-4-3 formation and could make a couple of tweaks to his starting XI for this game. Both Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon will play from the start as they look to give a good account of themselves out on the wide areas.
3-4-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Rennes
Defence
Hugo Lloris will operate in between the sticks for Spurs after securing a clean sheet versus the Canaries in his last appearance. Conte could opt for a back three of David Sanchez, Eric Dier and Ben Davies as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
Joe Rodon will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Harry Winks and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg will function as the holding midfielders as they focus on dominating the midfield battle and create some decent chances for their teammates in the final third. Ryan Sessegnon could get the nod to catch the eye down the left-wing while Matt Doherty fills in on the other side as the right wing-back.
Sergio Reguilon could miss this game due to injury but Japhet Tanganga should be ready to start on the bench and might come on to add more energy in the second half if required.
Attack
Heung-min Son will hope to put in a productive showing as the left-sided winger while Lucas Moura will be a guaranteed starter on the right flank. Harry Kane will once again spearhead Tottenham‘s attack down the middle.
Dane Scarlett and Steven Bergwijn will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine as the second-half substitutes if needed.
