Formerly of UD Almeria, Darwin Nunez has become an overnight sensation since joining SL Benfica last summer, for a fee of around €24 million. The gamble has paid off extremely well for the Portuguese giants, as the attacker was involved in 16 league goals during his debut campaign in Liga Primeira.
A centre forward by trade, Nunez has raised many eyebrows with his speed and efficiency going forward. He has already netted eight goals in all competitions this season, three of which came in the UEFA Champions League. The youngster has truly made an impression, even against oppositions like FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Darwin Nunez is currently one of the most intriguing South American forwards right now, after Lautaro Martinez. During his time at Benfica, the 22-year-old has shown his pedigree at the highest level of football, while his versatility, pace and positioning sense have turned him into a lethal weapon going forward.
