In a recent report, Fichajes has mentioned that Real Madrid have identified Manchester United midfielder, Donny van de Beek, as a target. It is believed that Los Blancos are eyeing the Dutch playmaker as a potential replacement for Luka Modric, who is entering the last stage of his playing career.
Van de Beek’s Unimpressive Spell At Manchester
Van de Beek has played a sporadic role for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side since arriving from Ajax back in 2020. The ex-Ajax sensation has only played in five senior matches for the Red Devils this season, receiving a total of 154 minutes of game time in multiple competitions.
The Dutch talent has failed to make a good impression of himself at the Theatre of Dreams and is in dire need of regular first-team starts. Hence, the 24-year-old could jump at the opportunity of joining Real Madrid if Carlo Ancelotti decides to launch a move for him next year.
Real Madrid Identify Van De Beek As A Target: Wise Move For Ancelotti?
When Van de Beek is playing regularly and with confidence on the field, he can be a decent box-to-box midfielder in top-flight football as evident from his previous spell with Ajax. He has got the vision to create some promising chances for others around him and can even bang in a few crucial goals for his team.
However, Van de Beek’s season thus far at Old Trafford has left a lot to be desired. The Dutchman would be better off opting for a change of scenery when the transfer window commences at the start of January. He might have a better shot at earning regular game time at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium where he would be expected to fill the big shoes of Luka Modric, who is entering the twilight years of his football career.
At 24, Van de Beek will get better with each season as long he can ensure regular playing minutes at the highest level. Ancelotti has got the luxury to offer him a proper shot at a regular first-team place which makes Real Madrid an ideal destination for the player.
The Spanish outfit can also expect to get the best out of Van de Beek in the coming seasons. Hence, it would be a wise move for Los Blancos if they can land the Dutch midfield ace either on loan or permanently this winter.
