In a recent report, The Daily Mirror revealed that Liverpool are showing interest in recruiting West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen. It has been claimed that the Hammers star is one of the options that the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly targetting to strengthen his squad in the future.
Bowen’s Outstanding Form In English Football This Season
Bowen has proven himself to be an important member of David Moyes’ starting XI after he produced a handful of eye-catching performances in the Premier League. The former Hull City youngster has found the back of the net on three occasions and grabbed five assists in 17 appearances for the East London outfit this season across all competitions.
The 24-year-old has given a good account of himself by averaging 2.5 shots, 1.7 key passes, 1.4 crosses and 2.3 dribbles per game in the English first division. He has even distributed possession relatively well based on his pass success rate of 77.9% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Should West Ham United Cash In On Bowen Next Year?
Bowen can use his quickness and agility to pull off a few eye-catching dribbles with the ball in the attacking end of the field. He has proven himself to be a capable playmaker in the opponent’s half and can also chip in by netting some crucial goals for West Ham up top.
The English sensation is currently one of the first names in David Moyes‘ teamsheet. His current contract at the London Stadium is set to expire in the summer of 2025, so the Hammers have no immediate need to cash in on him unless they receive a mammoth offer from Liverpool or any other potential suitors for his services in the next calendar year.
At 24, Bowen will only get better with each season which is why Moyes should try everything he can to keep the player happy for the long run. He has formed a solid attacking partnership with the likes of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Michail Antonio over the past few months, so it would be unwise for the East London giants to let him go any time soon.
