In a recent print edition, The Sunday People has revealed that Leeds United could face competition from West Ham United for Real Madrid playmaker Isco. It has been claimed the Whites have been ‘sounded out’ over a January move for the Spanish attacker.
Isco’s Mounting Frustrations At The Spanish Capital This Season
The Benalmadena-born talent has been a sporadic presence in Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI this season as he has struggled to be consistent with his contributions for Los Blancos in the final third. Isco has been involved in just seven matches for the Madrid outfit this season, scoring one goal in the process across multiple competitions.
The 29-year-old has seen most of his playing opportunities come off the bench which could be why is only averaging 0.9 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game in La Liga. However, he has been an exceptional distributor of the ball after completing 91.2% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
Will Isco Be A Dream Option For Leeds United Boss Marcelo Bielsa?
Isco can be quite exciting to watch when he is dribbling at full speed towards the opponent’s penalty area. He can lose his marker with ease and can set up some decent chances for his teammates in the final third when he is playing with confidence on the field.
The Spaniard’s goal-scoring record has been underwhelming this season due to the lack of game time. Hence, it is only logical for the player to opt for a change of scenery so that he can get his career back on track.
At 29, Isco has still got a handful of years left in him to play at a high level. Thus, Leeds United will do well to lure him to Elland Road when the transfer window commences at the start of next year. He is good enough to earn a regular starting place at the West Yorkshire club and could go on to become a favourite among the Leeds supporters. Someone of the Spaniard’s quality and winning track record will undoubtedly be a dream option for Marcelo Bielsa to consider this winter.
