Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Burnley last weekend got postponed due to adverse weather conditions as Antonio Conte seeks his 2nd win of the league. Conte won his first game in charge of Tottenham when they came back from behind to win against Leeds at home. But this victory was short lived when Slovenian team Mura defeated Spurs last week in the UEFA Conference League. Antonio Conte will be hoping for his side to bounce back with a win when they face newly-promoted Brentford on Thursday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
3-4-2-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Brentford
Defence
Hugo Lloris is a confirmed starter in between the sticks as he would look to keep a cleansheet at any cost on Thursday. Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier and Ben Davies are expected to start at the heart of the defence in a three-man backline system of Conte. Conte would like his defenders to be aerially strong as Brentford have attacking players who are strong in the air.
Christian Romero remains the only absentee in the Spurs defence with the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon options from the bench.
Midfield
Hojberg has been a consistent performer for Spurs in the middle of the park and he has also shown his goal scoring abilities this season when he has been at the right place at the right time. Hojberg’s ability to control the midfield and pick accurate passes will be key when they face Brentford on Thursday. It is believed that Harry Winks will be given another chance to impress the new manager as he partners Pierre-Emile Hojberg in the midfield. Tanguy Ndombele remains an option from the bench who can impact the game in the later stages.
The two wing backs will be Emerson from the right and Sergio Reguilon from the left. Conte will ask his wingbacks to make the overlap runs and stay as wide as possible to create space for the attacking players upfront.
Attack
Harry Kane will be leading the Spurs forward line as he hopes to break his poor goal scoring run in the league. With only 1 goal in 11 appearances, Conte will be hoping for the star forward to fire to have any hopes of finishing in the top 4 spot in the league.
The partnership of Heung-Min Son and Kane will be key to Tottenham’s attacking outlet as they seemed to combine very well last season. Lucas Moura is expected to start alongside Son behind Kane as his ability to progress the ball higher off the pitch has impressed Conte. The likes of Bryan Gil and Steven Bergwijn will be on the bench and hope to make an impact later in the game.
