Chelsea locked horns with Burnley at Stamford bridge earlier tonight, hoping to pick up all three points on their home turf. Kai Havertz opened the scoreline in the 33-minute-mark as he headed the ball past Nick Pope from Reece James’ cross. The Blues came close to doubling their lead on numerous occasions; however, it was Burnely who had the final say as Matej Vydra scored a 79th-minute equalizer to secure a point for his side.
Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the clash against the Clarets.
Chelsea Players Rated In Draw Vs Burnley
Edouard Mendy 6.5
The Senegalese shot-stopper didn’t have much to do in between the sticks tonight as the visitors managed to get just two shots on target over the course of the ninety minutes. However, the late goal from Matej Vydra ended his 6-match clean sheet streak.
Reece James 8
The England international put in a brilliant cross for Kai Havertz that led to the first goal of the game. He was impressive defensively as well as offensively down the right flank.
Antonio Rudiger 6.5
Physically strong, aerially dominant and composed at the back – Rudiger put in a decent performance at the heart of Chelsea‘s backline tonight. The late goal doesn’t really do justice to the kind of game he had.
Andreas Christensen 6.5
The Danish international didn’t have much to do either as Burnely rarely threatened Chelsea’s goal.
Thiago Silva 7
The Brazilian centre-back was a constant threat from set-piece situations. Defensively, he did well to hold the entire back-four in shape for the majority of the match.
Ben Chilwell 7
The former Leicester City defender stretched Chelsea’s attack down the left wing to the maximum possible. He made some extraordinary overlapping runs to free up the space for his teammates.
Jorginho 7
The Italian midfielder soaked the pressure extremely well and played some nice forward passes to dictate the tempo of the play.
N’Golo Kante 6.5
The Frenchman didn’t have too many defensive duties tonight, but he did quite decently to keep possession of the ball even under high-pressure situations.
Callum Hudson-Odoi 7
He was a constant source of menace for the Burnely defenders in the first half. Some better decisions would have gotten his name on the scoresheet.
Ross Barkley 6
Barkley did some fantastic playmaking for as long as he was on the pitch, but he missed some golden goalscoring chances that turned out to be costly in the end.
Kai Havertz 8
The German international opened the scoreline in the 33-minute-mark as he headed the ball past Nick Pope from Reece James’ cross.
