Everton entertained Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park earlier this afternoon as they focused on picking up a positive result at home. The two sides canceled each other out in the first 45 minutes and went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
It was a similar story in the second half as both teams fought tooth and nail to win the game but were not able to break each other down. Mason Holgate received a red card late in the game as the contest ended with Carlo Ancelotti’s men being held to a scoreless draw at Merseyside.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the clash against Spurs.
GK: Jordan Pickford – 6.5/10
The English goalie didn’t have a save to make in the game and earned an easy clean sheet at Goodison Park.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 7.5/10
Coleman didn’t put a foot wrong at the back and even made two good runs with the ball down the right wing.
CB: Ben Godfrey – 7/10
The English centre-back didn’t take any risks with his clearances and was quite good on the ball.
CB: Michael Keane – 7.5/10
Keane made multiple interceptions during the game and has got a clean sheet to show for his efforts.
LB: Lucas Digne – 7/10
The French full-back performed his defensive duties well and made one good chance in the final third.
RM: Aaron Gordon – 6.5/10
He had a couple of shots and tried his best to influence the game up top. However, he was lackluster in front of the Spurs goal.
CM: Fabian Delph – 7/10
Delph anchored the midfield with conviction but could only last 59 minutes.
CM: Allan – 7.5/10
The Brazilian midfield ace got stuck in with some crunching tackles and made a few inviting chances for his teammates to score. He was also willing to run with the ball from midfield at every chance he got.
LM: Demarai Gray – 7.5/10
Gray was a constant menace for the Tottenham defenders but couldn’t take any of his chances. However, he completed some exciting dribbles during his time on the field.
CAM: Andros Townsend – 6.5/10
He worked hard defensively but lacked the cutting edge in the attacking end of the field.
ST: Richarlison – 6/10
The Brazilian striker made two good interceptions but failed to threaten the Tottenham goal.
Substitutes:
CM: Tom Davies – 6.5/10
Davies added some energy to Everton’s midfield.
CB: Mason Holgate – 4/10
He came off the bench and received a red card.
CM: Jean-Philippe Gbamin – N/A
Gbamin hardly had any time to make an impact.
