West Ham United will entertain Liverpool at the London Stadium on Sunday night as they focus on securing a positive result in front of their home fans. The Hammers are enjoying a good run of form in Premier League football after they picked up a dominant 4-1 victory over Aston Villa last weekend.
David Moyes is expected to go with the 4-2-3-1 formation and could be inclined to make some changes to his first XI for this exciting clash versus the Reds. Michail Antonio will once again get the responsibility to lead the line for the East London outfit up top.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Liverpool
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will operate in goal for the Hammers he tries to keep the Liverpool attackers frustrated by making some important saves during the 90 minutes. Kurt Zouma will play alongside Angelo Ogbonna at the centre of the West Ham backline as they try to maintain a solid defensive shape at the back.
Ben Johnson could continue to operate at right-back while Aaron Cresswell hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both full-backs will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack. However, their main priority would be to stop the Reds wide players from creating too many chances from the flanks.
Craig Dawson and Vladimír Coufal will offer cover for the defensive positions on the West Ham bench.
Midfield
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will once again assume the duties of the holding midfielders as they hope to make life difficult for the visitors at the centre of the park. Pablo Fornals is expected to get the nod to operate down the left flank while Jarrod Bowen hopes to produce a goal-scoring display from the right.
Said Benrahma will play as a free-flowing attacking midfielder as he looks to feed some decent through balls to Michail Antonio in and around the Liverpool penalty box. Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko will be available on the bench and could come on to make an impact in the final stages of the match if needed. However, Alex Kral is a major doubt for this game and is unlikely to be risked this weekend.
Attack
As mentioned earlier, Michail Antonio will lead the charge for the Hammers in the final third. He will have to find ways to cause a few problems for the Liverpool defenders this weekend.
