West Ham United welcomed Tottenham Hotspur at the London Stadium earlier today as they looked to pick up maximum points in front of their home fans. Both sides fought tooth and nail in the first 45 minutes but struggled to make the decisive breakthrough. The Hammers went into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.
David Moyes’ men came out with more purpose in the second half and managed to get their noses ahead in the 72nd minute when Michail Antonio found the back of the net from close range. The London derby ended with the Hammers securing a narrow 1-0 victory at home.
Let’s take a look at how each West Ham player performed during the match against Spurs.

The Polish custodian made some important saves during the game and did enough to bag an impressive clean sheet in the derby.
RB: Ben Johnson – 7/10
He got stuck in with multiple tackles and was also quite lively in the Tottenham half.
CB: Kurt Zouma – 7/10
Zouma cleared his lines when required and performed well enough to earn a clean sheet at the back.
CB: Angelo Ogbonna – 7/10
The Italian defensive ace made a few essential interceptions inside his half and didn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when the opposition were on the front foot.
LB: Aaron Cresswell – 7.5/10
He was defensively solid and picked a good assist for setting up Michail Antonio’s match-winning goal in the second half.
CM: Tomas Soucek – 7/10
Soucek offered decent cover for his teammates at the back and created a couple of inviting chances in the final third.
CM: Declan Rice – 8/10
The England international was a dominant figure in the West Ham midfield as he made life difficult for Spurs with his tackling and defensive awareness. He snuffed out the danger when needed and was a tidy passer from midfield.
RW: Jarrod Bowen – 7/10
Bowen worked hard to help his teammates out on the defensive end of the field and had a couple of bright moments in and around the Tottenham penalty box. However, he didn’t do enough to score today.
CAM: Said Benrahma – 6.5/10
He was always willing to have a shot at goal but struggled to find his finishing touch in the final third. He got replaced late in the game.
LW: Pablo Fornals – 8/10
Fornals ran the show in the opponent’s half with his creativity and clever running. He was also a goal-threat but didn’t have his shooting boots on during the game.
