Calciomercato has recently mentioned that West Ham United winger is on Liverpool’s radar. It is understood that the Hammers wide player is the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s ‘first-choice’ target with his current deal at the London Stadium set to run out in the summer of 2025.
Bowen’s Incredible Form At The English Capital
Bowen has found his best form under David Moyes’ tutelage over the past 12 months. However, the English wide player has made a slow start to this campaign as he has scored just one goal and grabbed two assists in ten matches for the East London outfit this season across all competitions.
The 24-year-old has still been a consistent performer for West Ham this season after he averaged 1.6 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 2.1 shots, 1.7 key passes and 2.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been excellent when distributing the ball deep inside the opponent’s penalty box, based on his pass completion rate of 80% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
On his day, Bowen can be a real game-changer because of his pace and high work rate. He ticks all the right boxes in terms of what Jurgen Klopp demands from his wingers, so Liverpool have every reason to go all out to sign the West Ham star in January or at the end of this campaign.
Can The Hammers Afford To Lose Bowen?
Bowen is a pacey wide player who can lead the press well in the opposition half. He doesn’t mind working his socks off out on the wide areas and can be a hard man to catch when he is running at full swing going forward.
The Leominster-born sensation is a good crosser of the ball but needs to be a bit more decisive in the final third. At the moment, Bowen is far too important for Moyes to lose next summer as he is one of the most reliable players in his West Ham match-day squad.
At 24, the future is quite bright for the English talent. Hence, West Ham simply cannot afford to let Bowen go in January or next summer as he has got all the skillset needed to help the Hammers compete for a major trophy in the coming seasons.
