Tottenham Hotspur Vs Manchester United Tactical Preview: Team News, Predicted XIs And Streaming Links

Spurs will be hosting Manchester United in this weekend’s high voltage clash at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. While Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back from their humiliating defeat against arch-rivals Liverpool, Spurs will also look to get back to winning ways after their 1-0 defeat against London rivals West Ham United. Both the teams will lock horn in Saturday’s late kick-off with defeats on their shoulder from the last gameweek.

Manchester United’s last win in the league came on September 19 when they beat West Ham United, so the pressure will be on Ole Gunner Solskjaer to lead his team back to winning ways. Ole will be demanding a response from his players after last week’s heavy defeat against Liverpool which has put his job somewhat under scare. After collecting just 1 point from their last 4 games United find themselves at 7th place in the table. The Tottenham Hotspur stadium has been a happy hunting ground for them till now winning 1, drawing 1 and losing none of their matches, so Ole would like his side to build upon that.

It has been a mixed start for Spurs in the league with 5 wins and 4 losses as they find themselves 6th in the table. Spurs returned back to winning ways in the midweek game vs Burnley in the Carabao Cup after back to back defeats. Scoring goals has been an issue with Nuno’s side as they have found the net only 9 times in 9 matches with their star striker scoring just once this season. Having won only once in their last 5 Premier League games against United, Spurs will be looking to change this record this time around in front of their home fans.

Talking tactics

Nuno Espirito Santo will probably go for a 4-2-3-1 tactical setup with Hojberg, Skipp and Ndombele behind Kane, Son and Moura. Nuno’s side will look to make runs behind the United defenders and press higher up the pitch to create the maximum chances for Kane and Son to win the game for them.

Ole will look to counter Spurs by playing a 4-2-3-1 himself with Matic and Fred in the middle and Bruno in front of them. Ronaldo will continue to be the goal threat for United with wingers like Rashford and Sancho providing him.

Team news

Spurs will be without the services of Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gill who picked up an injury in the last game. All of  Kane, Son, Moura, Ndombele, Hojberg and Skipp are expected to keep their places in the lineup while Lo Celso and Bergwijn continue their fight to get into the first XI.

Manchester United could be able to field Raphael Varane in tomorrow’s game with the centre back returning to training following his groin issue. Paul Pogba is out with a suspension while Ole can supposedly bring in Matic and Sancho in place of Mctominay and Greenwood to return back to winning ways. Bruno and Ronaldo will continue to be Ole’s main weapon for scoring goals with Cavani and Lingard both being options off the bench.
