Tottenham Hotspur locked horns with Vitesse at the GelreDome earlier tonight as they looked to earn a victory on the road in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Both sides fought tooth and nail in the first half but struggled to get the better of each other as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Maximilian Wittek finally managed to break the deadlock in the 78th minute when he found the back of the Spurs net with a venomous volley. Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men failed to come up with a response and crashed to a disappointing 1-0 defeat in Europe.
Let’s take a look at how each Tottenham player performed during the match against Vitesse.

The Spurs keeper hardly had anything to do in the game but couldn’t do anything to stop Wittek from scoring with his excellent volley.
RB: Japhet Tanganga – 6.5/10
He didn’t take too many risks when defending his penalty box but struggled to make an impact in the opposition half.
CB: Davinson Sanchez – 6/10
Sanchez was strong in the air and kept a good shape at the back for most of the game. However, he got cautioned for a late challenge in the second half.
CB: Joe Rodon – 6/10
He made a couple of crucial defensive contributions inside his half but won’t be pleased after conceding a goal in the second half.

CM: Harry Winks – 6/10
He was full of energy and running but failed to influence the game in the attacking end of the field.
CM: Giovani Lo Celso – 7/10
Lo Celso was a constant menace for the Vitesse defenders as he linked up play quite well with others around him.
LW: Steven Bergwijn – 6.5/10
Bergwijn made some encouraging runs with the ball but didn’t do enough to get himself a goal.
CAM: Dele Alli – 6/10
Alli tried his best to make things happen in the opposition half but failed to be decisive in the final third.
RW: Bryan Gil – 6.5/10
