According to Daily Mail, as cited by Yorkshire Evening Post, Adama Traore is set to sign a new deal at Wolves. The forward has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent months, but it appears he is set to commit his future at the Molineux after an excellent start to the new season. It remains to be seen whether Spurs enter the market for Traore regardless, in the upcoming January transfer window.
Adama Traore’s Revival Under Bruno Lage
Adama Traore had endured a steady decline during the course of the 2020/21 campaign. As Wolves struggled under Nuno Espirito Santo, the forward found it difficult to perform, especially in terms of productivity.
In 37 matches, Traore scored only two goals while the player also struggled with consistency in his game, even falling behind Nelson Semedo in the pecking order. But that has changed under new coach Bruno Lage, who has successfully managed to revive Adama’s form.
Although the former Barcelona youth player is yet to register a single goal involvement, his contributions have been far greater. He is notably averaging two shots on goal per game while leading the league in terms of completed dribbles.
His pace, power and dynamism have indeed added a new dimension to Wolves’ attacking play, helping them secure nine points in the opening seven matches.

A Huge Blow For Tottenham?
Adama Traore signing a new deal with Wolves is set to serve as a massive blow for Tottenham Hotspur. Given the club’s struggles this season, especially over the past few weeks, Nuno Espirito Santo could have certainly welcomed a player like him in his ranks.
The Portuguese tactician already had a good relationship with the ex-Barcelona prodigy thanks to their time together at Wolves. And most importantly, Adama could have offered that zest, power and pace Spurs so desperately need in the final third.
Not to mention, the forward brings a wealth of experience in English football, unlike some of the new signings including Bryan Gil. Indeed, the 25-year-old almost has 150 Premier League appearances to his name with a proven track record of performing at the highest level of football.
As such, he could have been quite a bargain for Tottenham as they continue their search for reinforcements in the attacking department in the upcoming January transfer window.
