In a recent report, El Nacional stated that Real Madrid are set to compete with Barcelona for Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal. It is believed that Los Blancos will have to fight with their Catalan rivals to secure the services of the Spanish wide player who is valued at around €70m.
Oyarzabal’s Excellent Form At Basque Country This Season
Oyarzabal has been a man on a mission for La Real so far in this campaign as he has managed to bang in a handful of important goals for them in the final third. The 24-year-old registered six goals and one assist in ten matches for the Spanish outfit this season in multiple competitions, which could be why both Real Madrid and Barca are showing interest in recruiting him.
The Spanish sensation has proven himself to be one of the most productive wingers in Spanish football by averaging 3.0 shots, 1.9 key passes, 0.8 crosses and 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he can improve his accuracy a bit when linking up play with others around him as he has only made 75% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).

Real Madrid To Battle Barcelona For Oyarzabal: Is The Spaniard Worth The Fight?
Oyarzabal is a quick and agile winger who can complete some eye-catching dribbles in the opposition half. He can whip in a few inviting crosses from the wide areas and has a knack for creating some meaningful openings in the final third. The Eibar-born attacker is primarily a left-sided wide player but can even fill in on the right flank or play down the middle as an attacking midfielder if required.
The Spanish talent has added plenty of goals to his game and is currently one of the first names in Real Sociedad’s teamsheet. Hence, Oyarzabal is well-worth the fight as he could grow into a future star at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium under the stewardship of a world-renowned manager like Carlo Ancelotti.
At 24, Oyarzabal’s best years are ahead of him, which makes him a good, long-term option for Los Blancos to pursue in the future. With all things considered, Ancelotti should consider going all out in the race to land the Real Sociedad star in January or at the end of this season.
