In a recent report, Calciomercato has stated that Real Madrid outcast Dani Ceballos is on Juventus’ radar. It is believed that the Turin giants are willing to offer Adrian Rabiot in exchange for the Los Blancos midfielder during the January transfer window.
Ceballos’ Impressive Loan Spell At The Emirates Stadium
Ceballos is yet to make an appearance for the Madrid outfit in this campaign but had a solid loan spell with Arsenal last season. The Spain international was involved in 40 matches for the Gunners in the previous campaign, picking up three assists and four yellow cards across various competitions.
The 25-year-old caught the eye by averaging 1.5 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 0.6 clearances, 1.1 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Premier League last season. He was even excellent when distributing possession in the final third after making 87.2% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Let Cebellos Go In January?
Ceballos is a good tackler of the ball and can make some solid interceptions in midfield for his team. He can cut open the opposition defence with a killer pass in the final third and can even pull off a few encouraging runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
The 11-time Spain international hardly gives away the ball at the centre of the park. At 25. the Real Madrid outcast needs to secure regular first-team starts if he wants to improve as a footballer. Despite his impressive loan spell with the Gunners, Ceballos is not part of Carlo Ancelotti‘s first-team plans at the moment. Hence, it is only fair to the player if Los Blancos lets him go when the transfer window reopens in January.
Ancelotti should consider cashing in on him this winter or else include him in a swap deal involving Juventus’ Adrian Rabiot, who could be a shrewd acquisition for the Madrid club as long as they are willing to play him regularly at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons.
