Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to maintain their winning run in the Premier League as they lock horns with West Ham on Sunday. The Lilywhites slumped to a narrow victory to Vitesse in midweek’s UEFA Conference League, but are coming on the back of two consecutive wins against Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the league.
Predicted Tottenham Lineup Vs West Ham
Defence
Nuno Espirito Santo made a plethora of changes in midweek’s clash against Vitesse Arnhem. He is set to revert those changes in this crucial Premier League encounter, with the defence, in particular, set for a complete revamp.
Emerson Royal is set to replace Japhet Tanganga at right-back, with new signing Cristian Romero and Eric Dier also tipped to replace Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon in central defence
Emerson does provide offensive support going forward, but he will need to be careful up against Said Benrahma, while Sergio Reguilon, on the opposite flank, will be hoping to unsettle the opposition with his marauding runs forward.
There will be a change in goal as well, with new signing Pierluigi Gollini making way for the veteran Hugo Lloris.
Midfield
Nuno offered Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks the opportunity to prove themselves in midweek’s game against Vitesse. But neither of the two players were impressive enough to overthrow the current first-choice midfield options in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp.
They remain favourite to return to the starting eleven, operating in the double-pivot, just ahead of a rejuvenated Tanguy Ndombele. The Frenchman offers the creative spark that could go a long way in helping Tottenham pick apart the West Ham backline this weekend.
Attack
As for the attack, Nuno will recall the trusted duo of Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura to replace Bryan Gil and Steven Bergwijn in the wider attacking positions. They are set to accompany Ndombele in the creative department while Harry Kane will return to spearhead the Spurs frontline, replacing the young Dane Scarlett.
It remains to be seen whether Kane can create a scoring momentum after netting his first goal of the season in the narrow win over Newcastle United last weekend. His return to form could go a long way in helping his team build a winning momentum in the league as they look to push for the top six places.
