Manchester United Midfielder Gathering Interest From Italy: Should The Red Devils Cut Him Loose?

Calciomercato has recently reported that Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is gathering interest from Italy ahead of the winter transfer window. It is understood that AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus are eyeing a January move for the Dutch midfield ace, who favours a move to Real Madrid.

Van de Beek’s Limited Role At The Theatre Of Dreams

The 24-year-old has become an unwanted member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s match-day squad in this campaign so far. Van de Beek has just made three appearances for the Red Devils but is still waiting to open his goal-scoring account for this season.

At the moment, the Dutch talent is not part of the Man United manager’s first-team plans as he has completely lost his way at Old Trafford since joining from Ajax last year. His current contract with the Red Devils is set to expire in the summer of 2025, so Solskjaer has no immediate need to cash in on him.

Should Manchester United Cut Van de Beek Loose In January?

On his day, van de Beek can be a creative influence in midfield as he has got the courage and vision to play a decisive pass in the opposition half. He can also chip in by scoring some crucial goals for his team, as evident from his time at Ajax where he played some of the best football of his career.

The Dutch midfield ace can retain possession effectively at the centre of the park but has to ensure regular first-team starts if he wants to become a world-class midfielder someday. Hence, it is only fair to the player if Man United decides to cut him loose this January.

Van de Beek has become surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, so it is only logical for the Red Devils to send him out on loan or cash in on him by selling him permanently when the transfer window commences at the start of next year.
