In a recent report, El Nacional mentioned that Liverpool remain keen on signing Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore. It has been stated that the Reds head coach Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Spanish speedster and wants to sign him from Wolves next year.
Traore’s Lack Of Productivity In English Football
The 25-year-old has continued to excel as a wide player at the Molineux Stadium during this campaign but has struggled to be productive in the final third. Traore has appeared in nine matches for Bruno Lage’s side but is still waiting to score or assist a goal this season.
The Spanish sensation has been a consistent performer in English football based on his average of 2.0 shots, 1.7 key passes, 1.0 crosses and 7.0 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well after making 77.2% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
Traore‘s current deal with Wolves is set to expire in the summer of 2023, so Liverpool would have to make a sizable offer if they are to convince the West Midlands outfit to part ways with their prized asset.
Should Wolverhampton Wanderers Let Traore Leave?
Traore is currently one of the fastest wingers in world football. He can use his electric pace to breeze past his marker in the opposition half and is proficient at getting to the byline that allows him to whip in some inviting crosses into the opponent’s penalty area.
The Spanish wing wizard is also a strong and athletic dribbler that makes him such an unstoppable force in the final third. However, Traore still lacks productivity which is something that he needs to rectify if he wants to be a success story at a place like Anfield.
Wolves can benefit a lot from retaining Traore’s services as he is perfectly suited to excel in Bruno Lage’s brand of attacking football in the coming seasons. At 25, the Spanish speedster is about to embark upon the prime years of his playing career, so it would be a clever move by Lage to not let Traore leave next year.
