The Chelsea team will travel to Sweden on Tuesday to face Malmo FF in their reverse fixture of Group H in the UEFA Champions League. Currently, 2nd in the table with 6 points from 3 games, Chelsea will look to win and take a step ahead towards qualifying into the knockout stages of the tournament. The Blues are currently unbeaten in their last 6 games and will be looking to further extend their run on Tuesday.
Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Malmo FF
Defence
Edouard Mendy will be between the sticks again as we don’t expect Thomas Tuchel to make many changes in his squad which won against Newcastle. Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger are all expected to start in Thomas Tuchel’s back 3 system as Chelsea will hope to keep a cleansheet just like they did in the reverse fixture two weeks ago.
Midfield
Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will pair up again in Chelsea’s midfield as they will look to control the game from the beginning to the end. Jorginho will be looking to play through Malmo’s midfield line and supply the attackers with as many chances as possible to help them score or create while Kante will look to win the ball back as quickly as possible and stop Malmo’s counter-attacking game.
Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to start this game as Thomas Tuchel might give Reece James some rest after he played 3 games in 8 days. Ben Chilwell will keep his place on the opposite wing.
Attack
Chelsea’s attack will be again led by Kai Havertz since both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are still out with injuries. Kai Havertz scored in this fixture last time out, so he will be hoping for a similar outcome this time too.
Callum Hudson Odoi and Hakim Ziyech will start behind Kai Havertz as Tuchel will believe that they would affect the game with their creativity and pace.
