FC Barcelona will clash heads with Levante on Sunday evening, looking to pick up a positive result and turn things around in their favour. Barca will be heading into the contest on the back of a disappointing 0-0 draw versus Cadiz, whereas the visitors recorded a 2-0 loss against Celta Vigo on Wednesday.
Ronald Koeman will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from their last game, as Philippe Coutinho looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs Levante
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is expected to start in between the sticks for the upcoming clash. The German shot-stopper would be hoping to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Sunday.
Gerard Pique will partner with Ronald Araujo at the heart of Barcelona’s backline as they try to neutralise Levante’s attacking threats throughout the ninety minutes.
Sergino Dest is a guaranteed starter at the left-back position, whereas Sergio Roberto might replace Oscar Mingueza on the other flank as the right-back.
The full-back will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Given Frenkie de Jong’s suspension, Sergio Busquets and 17-year-old Gavi are expected to fulfil the holding midfield positions, with the latter occupying a more central role.
Philippe Coutinho will slot into the attacking midfield position. The Brazilian international will be determined to set up some clear cut goal scoring chances for the front men this weekend.
Riqui Puig will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could be brought on in the latter stages of the game if required.
Attack
Memphis Depay and Yusuf Demir will take up the wide positions down the left and right-wing, respectively, looking to stretch their side’s attack and simultaneously cut inside when given the space and opportunity.
Luuk de Jong will lead the line for Barcelona on Sunday. The Dutch striker hasn’t had a great start to his life at Camp Nou, but he will be hoping to make the most of his chances when he faces off against the Levante defence that has conceded four goals in their last three league games.
