Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to get back to winning ways as they take on NS Mura in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday. The Lilywhites are heading into this game on the back of a five-game winless run if we consider the penalty win over Wolves in Carabao Cup. A humiliating 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby has put further pressure on Nuno Espirito Santo, with Spurs fans hoping for nothing less than three points from this fixture.
Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup Vs NS Mura
Defence
Nuno is likely to ring in the changes from the side that faced Arsenal last weekend. With Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez struggling with form, this game serves as an ideal opportunity for the Portuguese tactician to hand Joe Rodon a start in defence.
The Welshman could be partnered by new signing Cristian Romero, who is yet to hit the ground running after arriving from Atalanta in the summer. It will be interesting to see how these two gel together as they look to keep a rare clean sheet this midweek.
There could be changes elsewhere in defence too, with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies hoping to replace Japhet Tanganga and Sergio Reguilon in the fullback slots. The same formula applies in goal, where Pierluigi Gollini is a favourite to start, ahead of Hugo Lloris, thus completing the new-look Tottenham backline.
Midfield
Tottenham will have to be a little creative with their use of midfielders. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is likely to be rested meaning there is a scope for Harry Winks to potentially make his presence felt in the middle of the park.
We are also expecting a start for Giovani Lo Celso. The Argentine has struggled with constant injury issues since the summer but should be fit enough to start ahead of Tanguy Ndombele. He will operate in the number ten role with Oliver Skipp and Winks featuring in the double-pivot.
Attack
Harry Kane has had a disastrous start to the campaign, failing to even find the back of the net in the Premier League so far. But a game against NS Mura will give him an ideal opportunity to find his scoring feet again.
There might be changes elsewhere in attack, though, with new signing Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura hoping to partner the Englishman in the final third. Son Heung-Min is an option on the bench while Steven Bergwijn remains a doubt due to his knock.
