Two Players Manchester United Should Loan Out This Transfer Window Including This Left-Back

Raphael Varane’s unveiling at Old Trafford, all three points in the opening game of the campaign, and a spectacular Bruno Fernandes hat-trick – Manchester United have started their season in the most impressive way possible.

However, with the transfer window deadline approaching thick and fast, there’s some unfinished business for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on the departure front. Here, in this article, we look at two players Manchester United should loan out before the end of the summer transfer window.

Brandon Williams

The 20-year-old left-back managed to play for just 187 minutes in the Premier League last season – thanks to Alex Telles’ arrival from Porto last summer and Luke Shaw’s phenomenal form throughout the season.

Earlier this month, reports from the Mirror revealed that Williams has his heart set on a season-long loan for the 2021/22 season despite an ankle injury to team-mate Alex Telles as he wants to continue with his development.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to keep him as a backup option.

“That is football. We’ve got kids wanting to play, of course. Brandon has done well in the left-back position.” – The Norwegian coach said.

Halting the youngster’s progress to cover up for a short-term injury makes no sense, especially given his potential to become one of the best wing-backs in the league.

Southampton have been linked with a move for the Englishman, and the St. Mary’s might as well turn out to be his next destination.

James Garner

The Birkenhead-born midfielder enjoyed a brilliant campaign with Championship side Nottingham Forest last term as he bagged four goals in twenty appearances in the second half of the season.

Chris Hughton seems keen on re-signing him on a loan deal for the 2021/22 season.

“We hope so [sign Garner on loan]. We generally do not talk specifically about players signing, but James is one who made a contribution we were delighted with last season,” – Hughton told The Athletic.

“We are very, very grateful to Manchester United for that happening, and his future will be in his hands and the hands of United.

Manchester United legend and Derby County manager Wayne Rooney wants a piece of the highly-rated youngster as well.

“With James Garner and Teden Mengi, different players from different clubs; we are on top of it. Ultimately, it is on those clubs to see us as a suitable club for their players to go to and develop, so we have to wait and see on those players,”   – Rooney said.

Well, Garner won’t be getting regular minutes at Old Trafford this season until and unless there is a major injury crisis. Under such circumstances, a temporary move away might benefit all the parties involved.
