Chelsea clashed heads with Liverpool at Anfield earlier this evening as they looked to secure their third win in three matches. Kai Havertz opened the scoreline for the visitors from a set-piece situation to put his side in the lead after 22 minutes. However, Mohamed Salah converted from the spot deep into the first half to make it 1-1.
Despite being down to ten men, the Blues defended really well in the second half to hold on to a point.
Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the match against the Reds.
Chelsea Players Rated In Draw Vs Liverpool
Edouard Mendy 8
The Senegalese shot-stopper pulled off some amazing saves in the second half to secure a point for his side.
Cesar Azpilicueta 9
The skipper toiled hard to keep the entire backline in shape after Chelsea went down to ten men. He made numerous last-ditch tackles and interceptions to stop the Liverpool frontmen from finding the back of the net.
Andreas Christensen 8.5
The Danish centre-back won some crucial headers and made several important challenges to keep things tidy at the back.
Antonio Rudiger 9
The German defender was a rock at the heart of Chelsea’s defence. He read the game exceptionally well on a couple of situations, and it’d be an understatement to say that the Blues wouldn’t have been able to hold on to a point if it wasn’t for his colossal work rate.
Marcos Alonso 8
Alonso made some important interceptions down the left-flank to deprive Mohamed Salah of goal-scoring opportunities.
Reece James 5
While I agree with the penalty decision, maybe the red card was a bit harsh.
Nonetheless, he did well to set up Kai Havertz’s goal from a set-piece situation.
N’Golo Kante 6
The Frenchman worked tirelessly at the centre of the park in the first forty-five minutes to take pressure off Chelsea’s backline.
Jorginho 7
The Italian international dropped deep in the second half to shield his side’s back four, and his ball distribution was quite impressive as well.
Mason Mount 6.5
The Englishman missed a golden opportunity to double his side’s lead in the first half. He didn’t see too much of the ball in the second forty-five minutes.
Kai Havertz 7
The German international scored the opener from a set-piece situation, but he was replaced with Thiago Silva at the half-time mark.
Romelu Lukaku 6
The former Inter striker was deprived of services throughout the ninety minutes.
