Fichajes has recently mentioned that Real Madrid might show interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as they look to bolster their midfield following the departure of Martin Odegaard recently. On Twitter, Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard revealed that the French playmaker is looking for a fresh challenge amid interest from La Liga which could open the door for Los Blancos to land him this month.
Ndombele’s Inconsistent Season At The English Capital
Ndombele had an up and down campaign at North London but deserves a pat on the back for producing some productive displays in the opposition half. The French midfield ace made 46 appearances for Spurs last season, scoring six goals and providing four assists in all competitions.
However, the 24-year-old was inconsistent at times with his contributions at the centre of the park as he averaged 1.2 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 0.5 shots, 0.4 key passes and 2.2 dribbles per game in Premier League football. However, Ndombele was excellent with his ball distribution after making 85.6% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
Ndombele has shown some signs of maturity over the past 12 months but is not a guaranteed starter in Nuno Espirito Santo’s first team. Therefore, it is not a surprise that the player wants to leave in search of more game time in the coming seasons.
Is Ndombele A Good Option For Los Blancos?
Ndombele can make some solid tackles to disrupt the opposition’s flow in the game at the centre of the park. He is also proficient at making a few clever runs towards the opponent’s penalty box. The French talent can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range. He has even got the vision to create some promising goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates in the final third.
Hence, Los Blancos can benefit from adding a midfielder of Ndombele’s quality to their squad during this summer transfer period. Carlo Ancelotti has currently got an ageing midfield with both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos edging closer towards the end of their respective careers.
Ndombele will undeniably add some energy and dynamism to Ancelotti’s midfield department and could go on to become a future star at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons. At 24, the best is yet to come from the Frenchman which makes him a good option for Los Blancos to pursue this summer.
