In a recent report, The Daily Mail mentioned that Manchester City are keeping tabs on FC Metz midfielder Pape Sarr this summer. It is understood that Man City could face competition in the form of Chelsea and Manchester United in pursuit of the Senegalese youngster.

At such a tender age, Sarr has already managed to establish himself as a valuable member of Metz’s midfield. The Thiaroye-born talent has made 27 senior appearances for the French club so far, scoring four goals in the process across all competitions.
The 18-year-old caught the eye by averaging 2.0 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 1.4 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Ligue 1 last season. He has even been excellent when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 85.3% of his attempted passes in the top tier of French football (stats via whoscored).
Sarr has shown plenty of encouraging signs with his performances for Metz over the past 12 months. He is currently amongst the most promising young midfielders in European football, so Man City should think about snapping him up as he could grow into a generational talent for them in the long run.

Sarr is a moderately-paced midfielder who loves a tackle and is proficient at disrupting the opposition’s flow in the game at the centre of the park. He can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team and tends to anchor the midfield with authority and conviction.
