Everton will face off against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday night as they try to secure maximum points away from home. The Toffees managed to earn an impressive 3-1 win over Southampton in the opening weekend of this Premier League season. Hence, we can expect them to be full of confidence ahead of this league game this weekend.
Rafael Benitez will probably set his side up in a 4-4-2 formation and could be inclined to name an unchanged starting XI for this match. However, Andre Gomes is unlikely to be available for selection because of a knock.
4-4-2 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Jordan Pickford will function in goal for the Merseyside outfit after he shipped in one goal against the Saints in his last league appearance. Mason Holgate will resume his centre-half partnership with Michael Keane as they try to keep Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford in check during the 90 minutes.
Seamus Coleman will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Lucas Digne looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Benitez will ask both of them to keep a good shape at the back and make some energetic runs with or without the ball out on the wide areas.
Yerry Mina and Jonjoe Kenny will be named on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will operate as the holding midfielders as they try to make life difficult for the Villans at the centre of the park. Demarai Gray will get another opportunity to give a good account of himself on the left flank. Andros Townsend could be given the license to stretch the Villa defence from the right.
The Everton midfielders need to work as a cohesive unit if they are to come out on top this weekend. Fabian Delph and Tom Davies will be available for selection on Benitez’s bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Richarlison could be unleashed alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the final third. The dynamic duo will be eager to impress after they both managed to find the back of the net versus the Saints last weekend.
