Aston Villa will welcome Brentford at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon as they focus on securing a win in front of their home fans. The Villans thrashed Barrow 6-0 in the EFL Cup second round in midweek, so their confidence would be quite high ahead of this game against the Bees.
Dean Smith will probably choose to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and is expected to revert to his strongest XI for this game. Hence, we can expect to see Danny Ings once again lead the charge for the Villans up top.
4-3-3 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Brentford
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will once again feature as Villa’s primary keeper after he got a rest in midweek. Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings will operate as the centre-backs once again as they try to deny the Bees from scoring this weekend.
Matty Cash will be named as the right-back while Ashley Young looks to put his experience to good use at left-back. Smith will ask both of them to stretch the pitch out on the wide areas and provide some decent support to the front players.
Axel Tuanzebe will drop the bench and offer cover for the centre-half positions.
Midfield
Jacob Ramsey, Marvelous Nakamba and John McGinn will make up Dean Smith’s midfield this weekend. The hard-working trio will have to maintain a good shape in midfield and try to create some clear-cut chances for their teammates in the Brentford half.
Douglas Luiz will have to be content with a spot on the bench and could come on to offer some energy in the second half if required.
Attack
Anwar El Ghazi got his name on the scoresheet versus the Magpies, so he will definitely keep his place down the left flank. Emiliano Buendia will carry most of the creative workload for his side as the right-winger.
Danny Ings will once again get the responsibility to spearhead the Villa attack down the middle. The former Liverpool marksman has found the back of the net in each of his last two appearances. Hence, he will fancy his chances of getting a goal against Brentford at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
Ollie Watkins is unlikely to recover in time for this game which means that Cameron Archer might get a chance to feature on the bench following his incredible hat-trick in midweek.
