In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Ekrem Konur stated that Real Madrid have identified Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe as a summer target. It is understood that Los Blancos could move in for the French centre-half if they fail to keep hold of Raphael Varane in this off-season.

Kimpembe’s Solid Form In French Football Last Season
Kimpembe enjoyed a solid season at the French capital as he put in a series of commanding displays at the heart of the PSG backline. The French defensive ace was involved in 40 matches for the Parisian outfit in the previous campaign, picking up seven yellow cards across all competitions.
The 25-year-old proved his worth as a valuable defensive presence after he averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 2.1 clearances per game in the Ligue 1. He even distributed the ball exceptionally well based on his pass completion rate of 95% in the French top-flight (stats via whoscored).
Kimpembe’s current contract at Parc des Princes is set to expire in the summer of 2024, so Los Blancos will have to make a sizable offer if they are to convince PSG to part ways with their prized asset during this summer transfer window.
Should Real Madrid Get Kimpembe On Board This Summer?
Kimpembe is a capable defender at the back as he has got excellent defensive awareness that allows him to sense the danger quickly and nip them in the bud on the defensive end of the pitch. He can make some crunching tackles to earn the ball back for his side and hardly gives away possession when passing the ball out from the back.
The 20-time France international has developed a winning mindset during his time in Paris and has gone on to taste success with France at the international stage as well. He will fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s playing style quite well if he can get a deal done for him before the start of the new season.
At 25, Kimpembe is about to embark upon the prime years of his playing career, so Los Blancos can expect to make the most out of his services as long as the player can make a smooth transition to life in Spanish football.
Kimpembe will add a lot of quality to Ancelotti’s defensive department and could even help them reclaim the La Liga title next season. He is good enough to propel the Madrid outfit to do well in European football in the years to come. Hence, the Spanish heavyweights should think about trying everything they can to seal a move Kimpembe if they fail to keep their star defender, Raphael Varane at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium beyond this summer.
